Upcoming Road Trip to Arizona & California

For the first time ever, I will be leaving on a road-trip to go out with encouragement for the Churches & Ministry Outreach Centers. The Holy Spirit moved in me about two weeks ago, and to be quite honest, I really didn't understand how, or why, or even where we would be going! I mentioned this to a few people, who reacted very much like I did. Since then, I have received the call from four different Churches, asking us to come to help with the outreaches in their areas. These Churches do not have much funding, but are willing to take an offering to help pay for the gas. Today (Thursday), I began to have doubts. I asked God to show me clearly if it is His will for us to go. Suddenly, I became very hungry. I stopped to get a bite to eat at a Zips Hamburger Restaurant. I went through the drive through. When I arrived at the window to pay for my meal, the lady handed me a receipt that had a big zero written over it. I asked what it meant, smiling she informed me that someone had paid the bill for me. I asked who it was, and she pointed to a man who was smiling and waving at me. I have no idea who he is, but God spoke very directly into my heart that I am not to worry about how, or where, or why! I am just to go, trusting in Him to direct our path! Please pray for us as we (Chuck Gilstrap, Possibly Jack Post, and myself) will be leaving on March 2, 2008.

Hello everyone!

I have been offline for quite some time now, and there is much to share! God is moving in a mighty way in West Central, Spokane, Washington! The Lord's Ranch has opened up a transitional house for some of their graduates, Truth Ministries will be opening another one in West Central also! Fred and Julia have opened their house for outreach (And, they are doing wonderfully!), James & Nancy will be doing outreach from their house, and Joshua and Sarah will be back soon doing outreach! What could be better? People's lives are changing in West Central, Women's groups are forming, Ministires are coming together like never before. . . Relationships are healing! I am excited beyond belief! God, not people are doing this!

Off-Broadway Family Outreach is letting go of the Lighthouse as we originally saw it. Instead, we are participating in the building of a LIGHTHOUSE network of HOPE in West Central, Spokane, WA, by linking together with the other parts of the Body of Jesus Christ, with each of us individually doing our respective parts from the WHOLE of what God is doing in our midst! Please pray for us, and ask the Holy Spirit of our God to release the anointing of LOVE that will enable the success of our mission! And, watch the updates for the continuing news of TRANSFORMATION in our City!!!

RE: We need your help at the lighthouse at Off-Broadway Family Outreach

We would like to thank you for the many years (4) of support and prayers for the Off-Broadway Family Outreach.. It is encouraging to see how this recent "obstacle" has not been an obstacle at all, but an opportunity for God to move His people out -

The permit fees to secure access to the building that we are looking to purchase at W. 2225 has been sealed for any occupancy by the city until we can raise up the resources for the permit fees. Originally, the Mayor said the fees would be waived; (approximately $3500) however, the city has locked the possibility for all non-profit ministries prior to his statement of promise. Our recent exposure (KHQ –KREM) through the media showed the heart of the ministry, the people, and how HOPE through Jesus Christ is the only way to change the face of our city! The letters of support from the body of Christ along with the head city officials remind us that God is on the move in this situation!

Originally, we were given the green light to occupy the grounds (outside the building) and to store our supplies within the building. One leader was given verbal permission to occupy the structure while the permits and neighborhood alert to a new ministry were underway. In no way were we willingly being disobedient to the required code enforcement guidelines in our city. Now, we are financially in a situation that does not make it possible to move forward without your help.

We have a dream at OBFO to walk in peace and to help lead the gangs, drug addicts and broken people out of the darkness through the love of Jesus. Yes indeed, the congregation is rich in love but poor in resources.

In God’s perfect timing we will see how He will multiply the widow’s mite! An elderly neighbor to the Lighthouse dropped another 68 pennies into the circle of love as we stood for the last time on the front lawn! Added to her gift was a $10 bill by a man who used to use it to buy dope. His words, “I used to use it for dope but now I give it for HOPE!” Together, they claimed victory in pursuing the vision of peace as they collectively caught the vision, taking a step of faith through the darkness to see Off-Broadway reopen their doors. Another man, who was recently released from prison, was working at his job. The Holy Spirit moved upon him to donate $100.00 to OBFO. He called that same night, and without even knowing what was going on, donated the very much needed resources. We believe this is a very special season in West Central. We know beyond a shadow of doubt that the people have taken ownership and October 1st will become the new beginning of a neighborhood in transformation.

Can you help get the word out?
A neighbor called the owner and wants to purchase the OBFO site out from under us. Failing to see that there is already a severe problem in West Central, she doesn’t want the “Kind of People” we minister to around her home (They are already there, that’s why they call it “Felony-Flats”). We believe that from the beginning, the Lord had His hand upon this corner at Nettleton and Broadway! Originally, we wanted to secure permits so we could move forward. Today, we believe He wants the OBFO to be permanently “set” upon His foundation to become the search and rescue lighthouse of Hope. If 600 churches gifted $100 to the Lighthouse at OBFO the site could be purchased! Please pray and ask God how you can be part of stepping on board as we set sail upon the sea of His peace beside the weakened vessels in the “fell-on-knee” Flats in West Central Spokane. Beside the Still Waters we wait for God to move us out.

. . . to "From the Desk of Still-Free." From time to time I have information I would like to communicate to interrested individuals who have the desire to know what is going on in t5he corsets of my heart. This Blog is my attempt to meet this desire.

Today is a very special day. Off-Broadway Family Outreach (OBFO) remains up and running. And, since code restrictions and zoning laws have caused the city to shut us down, (as far as the building & outreach as we knew it on the lawn is concerned), our efforts have become even more effectual! The media coverage thus far, has proven to benefit us greatly in that people from near and far are catching the vision of what the Spirit of our Lord is doing in West Central, Spokane, WA. And, we are excited beyond belief!

Continue to pray with us for our:

Monday Morning Food Distribution
Monday Evening Outreach (Parking lot across the street from the Broadway Food Store at the corner of Broadway & Nettleton)

Pray:

. . . together with us as we enter into a time of Spiritual Renewal and a regathering of the vision and purpose He has placed so deeply into our hearts. What we want above all is to be found occupied with what God our Father would have us to be doing.

. . . for Jamie, who is battling with infection at the Holy Family Hospital.

. . . for Jeff Kuntz, who is battling with infection in a nursing hope.

. . . for continued favor with the Spokane city officials in securing a Conditional Use Permit for our building.

. . . for yourself, as you seek His guidance as to how you too can be a part of what God is doing at OBFO (Prayer support, Financial support, Other. . . )
